As Sea to Sky Botanics’ founder, Jonathan works as our urban agriculture consultant, indoor farm builder and biophilic designer. With over 10 years of experience, he has worked with commercial and private clients to create aquaponic, hydroponic and soil-based systems that grow anything from microgreens to root crops. He received his BSc in Cell Biology–Genetics from the University of British Columbia and was instrumental in the construction of Nutraponics’ Demonstration Facility—Canada’s largest aquaponics facility to date. He is a graduate of The Aquaponic Farming Course (2015, Denver, Colorado).

As an artist, he has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Edmonton Arts Council and the Buschlen Mowatt Nichol Foundation. His current work, Proposals for Reimagined Futures, was published by the Vancouver Biennale in 2025. In 2026, he will present this work at the Phylum Artist Talk series in Bristol, UK.
